HISTORY After much anticipation, Rainier Valley Optometric opened its doors to great fanfare and celebration on July 31, 2004. Our vision was, and still is, to provide much needed eye care services to residents of Rainier Valley and the surrounding communities. From our humble beginnings, we have gone on to share our passion for caring with many of the citizens of King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties. We are the premier eye care provider of southeast Seattle, and are very proud to serve such a diverse and multi-ethnic population. What we bring to our patients is a combined total of over 10 years experience in the diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision-related conditions. |

Harold
Chuang, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry Dr. Chuang is a graduate of the University of British
Columbia in Vancouver. He completed his professional studies at
Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon and earned his Doctorate of
Optometry in 1998. As part of his training, Dr. Chuang worked as
an optometric intern from 1996 to 1998 for Optometric Physicians
Northwest, Pacific University Family Vision Center, and Madigan Army
Hospital. After graduating, Dr. Chuang spent a brief period
serving as Optometric Physician at the University of Washington Medical
Center Eye Clinic before pursuing private practice.

Wilbur
Susilasate, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry Dr. Susilasate graduated with honors from UCLA in
1995. He later went on to pursue his professional degree at the
University of California at Berkeley, earning his Doctorate of
Optometry in May 2000. As part of his training, he completed
externships at the American Lake Veterans Administation Hospital in
Tacoma, WA; Magruder Eye Institute and LaserVue in Orlando, FL; and the
Indian Health Services Medical Center in Rosebud, SD. Dr.
Susilasate is certified in the treatment and management of ocular
disease, and is licensed in the state of Washington to practice
full-scope optometry.

Fawzidah
Ton-Susilasate
Office Manager Mrs. Ton-Susilasate handles the everyday operation of our
office. In addition to her managerial role, she is also very
involved in many aspects of patient care including pre-examination
procedures, contact lens training, eyewear dispensing, frame styling,
and insurance benefit coordination. Mrs. Ton-Susilasate has been
active in
the optical industry for nearly ten years, and brings a great deal
of experience to our office. With her friendly demeanor and warm
smile, you’ll feel like an old friend even while visiting our office
for the first time.
